Azteca by Katia 12ply $22 per 100g ball.
Also see Verve by Cleckheaton 12py $9 per 50g.
I love both of these yarns, dyed as fluff and then spun, this creates long lengths of colour that drift colour to colour, from solid to marls. This is quite different to a hank dyed yarn, a narrow scarf of 24sts creating large bands of colour or as a wrap with 50sts creates narrow stripes. The colour repeat flows through about three quarters of the ball, so striping is wonderfully random.
Azteca is a chunky weight with 180mts/ 197yds to 100g with 53% Wool/ 47% Acrylic. The ball band gives 5.5mm needles for a garment with 17sts to 10cm/4". The wrap, cowl and scarf designs are knitted on 7.5mm needles, for The Wicked and Muffin Top Hats 4.5mm needles - designs are available as knitting kits.
Verve is labeled 12ply with 90mts/ 98yds to 50g with 70% Wool/ 30% Acrylic. The ball band gives 5.5mm needles for a garment with 16sts to 10cm/4". The wrap, cowl and scarf designs are knitted on 7.5mm needles, for The Wicked and Muffin Top Hats 4.5mm needles - designs are available as knitting kits.
I have tried to show the yarn knitted as well as in the ball - some shades can look quite different ball to ball. The yarn is designed to have long drifts of colour, which shows really well when knitted.
