Above is the back of the Coco Panel Cardigan, available as knitting kit or pattern. Mitres are quite simple and very rewarding. What if I tell you that you only ever have two colours attached to your knitting at one time? Two row stripes taking colours stripe to stripe. A centre decrease over 3sts is worked into the first row of each colour - this is a right side row: Decrease Sl1, K2tog, psso - slip 1 stitch, Knit 2 sts together, pass the slip stitch over - the psso happens on the right hand needle, lifting the second stitch over the stitch closest to the point of the needle. Row 2 of the stripe is the wrong side of the knitting and knit will create garter stitch. It is this centre decrease on right side rows that creates the Mitre Chevron. Again a great stash buster, whatever you knit in Mitres will impress! Check out my YouTube Video on Mitres

I love texture because you can see your progression: I feel like my knitting grows faster! I created the Textured Scarf Class to introduce you to textured stitches while the $2 Penny Jacket Class is for cables, and $2 Split Texture Jacket Class brings traveling stitches and short rows, it all makes knitting the garment more fun. I see many knitters avoid garments, concerned about how the garment will fit. This class has seven stitch patterns, each worked for 18 rows.

Textured Scarf Knitting Class $2
At the same time as learning stitch patterns, learn how stitch patterns change tension. How garter stitch condenses the knitting and rib elongates and narrows.

While it looks cool chunky, I find big needles like 10 mm quite clumsy when learning.
Stitches include Moss Stitch, Basket Stitch, Basket Weave, Double Moss, Rib, Garter and Corrugated Garter. These are Stitch patterns I use for knitted-on button bands and are reversible. Lots to learn whilst creating a scarf from your stash.
