This Knitting Class includes seven different stitch patterns, each worked for 18 rows. The class is worked over 20sts, but double this to 40sts and you have a scarf width in DK weight, perfect lesson and stash buster!
The stitch patterns will help new knitters learn to count rows and distinguish knits from purls too. Six of the seven stitch patterns are reversible, the same on both sides, and are stitch patterns I use for my knitted on button bands.
The first 18 rows are Knit for Garter Stitch: Next 18 rows of rib K2, P2, the rib narrows the knitting & almost doubles the length. The class has great images and written instructions per 18 row stitch pattern.
Almost any yarn from your stash will do but since you need to see your stitches, I'd avoid textured yarns. While it looks cool chunky, I find really big needles 10mm & above quite clumsy to use.
Stitch Patterns include Garter Stitch, Ribbing, Moss Stitch, Basket Stitch, Basket Weave, Double Moss, Corrugated Garter and Woven Basket which is the one pattern that isn't reversible but looks interesting both sides.
Lots to learn from this class whilst creating a scarf from your stash.
